CHAPTER 11. PUBLIC OFFENSESCHAPTER 11. PUBLIC OFFENSES\Article 1. Uniform Offense Code

There is hereby incorporated by reference for the purpose of regulating public offenses within the corporate limits of the City of Buhler, Kansas, that certain code known as the “Uniform Public Offense Code,” Edition of 2024, prepared and published in book form by the League of Kansas Municipalities, Topeka, Kansas, save and except such articles, sections, parts or portions as are hereafter omitted, deleted, modified or changed. At least of copy of said Uniform Public Offense Code shall be marked or stamped “Official Copy as Adopted by Ordinance No. 649,” with all sections or portions thereof intended to be omitted or changed clearly marked to show any such omission or change and to which shall be attached a copy of this section or said adopting ordinance, and filed with the city clerk to be open to inspection and available to the public at all reasonable hours.

Section 6.16 (giving a worthless check) of the Uniform Public Offense Code for Kansas cities is not enacted and does not apply within the city.

Section 5.6 (c) of the Uniform Public Offense Code for Kansas cities is hereby amended to read as follows:

       (c)   Violation of this section shall be an ordinance cigarette or tobacco infraction for which the fine shall be $75 on the first offense, $200 on the second offense, and $500 for the third offense. In addition, the judge may require the juvenile to appear in court with a parent or legal guardian. (K.S.A. 79-3321;3322).
